Naturally, after having beautiful new blinds or shutters installed in your home, you will want to keep them looking pristine. Whether it be dust, finger-marks or splashing from the kitchen sink, you can give your blinds or shutters a clean with readily available products.

Venetian blinds and shutters can seem a challenge to keep dusted but there are purpose-built dusters available on-line and from high-street retailers. Venetian dusters have multiple microfibre pads that slot between the slats to clean multiple slats at a time. Use your duster with a spritz of home multi-purpose polish to keep your venetians and shutters looking fresh after every dusting.

For the majority of all our roller blind and vertical blind fabrics, you can give them a wipe down with a warm, damp non-scratching cloth or sponge. Often, this is enough to remove any wet or tacky marks on the blind. In the instance of dust settling on the blind, run a hoover across the blind with a mini-brush head attachment. This is a fast and easy way to keep the blinds dust-free and looking fresh.

The same goes for pleated blinds as for rollers and vertical cleaning practices. They can be wiped and dusted in the same manner but do be sure to leave your pleated blind down to let any dampness or moisture from cleaning dry thoroughly out of the blind. If your pleated blinds are not too wide, you can also hoover out the voids in honeycomb/hive style pleated blinds to keep the blinds looking fresh when both up and down.

Try not to use abrasive or bleach-based cleaners as this could damage the blind or shutter and leave worse marking behind. But try to clean any marks as soon as you notice the blind or shutter is marked, as naturally stains or marks can be harder to remove once dried.
