How many punnets of strawberries and cream have you devoured watching Wimbledon with a fresh pitcher of Pimms or the quintessential glass of Robinsons squash? A staple event of the British sporting calendar alongside the Formula One Grand Prix and The Ashes. Something that is most pleasing about Wimbledon is the aesthetic of the stipulated white sporting gear against manicured green courts in the (mostly) blazing summer sunshine. And if those rolled lawns are igniting a hint of green envy, we have a delicious selection of greenery to dress your windows or adorn your walls in our boutique to choose from.

If the thought of choosing fabrics (green or other coloured) for your Roman blinds leaves you a little overwhelmed, we are excited to announce we have two new books collaborating best sellers from our Wentworth and Harewood collection. Our fitters will have these with them when they visit you for a free home appointment to measure your windows. Make sure you mention you are looking for Romans when you book. From the wide choice in the two books you will be able to receive your roller blinds in shorter time frame of 3 to 4 weeks. However, if you would still love to come in and peruse our collections after a home visit, by all means come and see us. We will have all your paperwork and measurements to hand here. But remember, if you make a choice out of these two books from any of our other sample books it will be a 4 – 5 week order period.

You may remember our Remnant Sale is due to begin next week and our Boutique sale should be drawing to a close. Yet we have a few items we would still like to find homes for. Therefore, we are combining our Remnant Sale into our Boutique Sale. Keep and eye out for choice remnants in our Boutique to purchase alongside some final pieces of home wares and decor.

The “Big Secret” is now entering the best stage. Beverley is now finishing the soft furnishings stage with all the headboards and cushions to style and have finished in production. Wallpaper is bringing life to the walls and the top floor is so nearly ready to have curtains hung. There is also an exciting trip to be had going shopping for antiques in Hartwell at Elisabeth James Antiques! See, we don’t just do blinds and curtains! We can help to dress and advise on the finish of a complete project. And with Elisabeth James Antiques just a stones throw from us it is in keeping with the importance of sourcing and using local independent businesses. It can be very easy to get caught up in the mainstream mass produced market of furnishing and interior companies, but smaller independent businesses can offer as much if not more original pieces and choices of style. Obviously, sometimes it is inevitable to have to go big business but in a time of that dreaded “B” word, by which of course we mean Brexit, we need to all support our homegrown retail roots.

All in all it has been a pretty enjoyable week for us, just busy enough without us needing to flake out with a gin. However, there wouldn’t be any harm to though…? So a bit of a shorter and sweet article this week from us, but hopefully you will be popping in to see our remnants and final sale pieces. Or you might like to book an appointment to see those new roman books.
